Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips or nuts if using.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- You can customize these cookies by adding your favorite mix-ins like dried fruits, coconut, or different types of chocolate.
- For a chewier texture, slightly underbake the cookies.
