Description
These air fryer French fries are perfectly crispy and golden brown, made with minimal oil for a healthier version of your favorite snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into even-sized fries, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
- Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with a towel.
- In a large bowl, toss the dried fries with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Place the fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. You may need to do this in batches.
- Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fries from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispy fries, you can soak the cut potatoes for longer or use a double frying method.
- Feel free to customize your seasoning to your taste! Try adding parmesan cheese, cayenne pepper, or your favorite herbs.
