Description

A classic Italian-American dish featuring chicken breasts sautéed to golden perfection, drenched in a tangy lemon-caper sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, for dredging
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup capers, rinsed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
  4. Add chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add lemon juice, chicken broth, and capers. Bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Whisk in remaining butter until melted.
  7. Return chicken to the pan and simmer for another minute to coat with sauce.
  8. Garnish with parsley and lemon slices before serving.
