- 1 lb (450g) chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup (120g) cornstarch
- 1/2 cup (120ml) buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup (120g) mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup (60ml) sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- Green onions, sliced for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
- Dip each piece of chicken in the buttermilk, then coat with the cornstarch mixture, ensuring even coverage.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. Mix well until smooth.
- Toss the fried chicken pieces in the sauce until well coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
